When a film director is found brutally beaten to death in the woods of Wimbledon Common, Detective Inspector Dan Lockhart is called to investigate. Finding a strange symbol on the victim’s neck, he asks psychologist Dr Lexi Green to help decypher its meaning.
Lexi is still coping with the trauma of the ‘Throat Ripper’ case she worked on with Dan and his team several months earlier. When she is simultaneously drawn into a second case of serial sexual assault at London bus stops, the pressure pushes her to breaking point.
Soon, a second murder victim is found. A successful lawyer has been killed in the same way as the director, an identical symbol drawn on his neck.
